Jon Gilrain joined the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce as a merchant in 2009 when he and his wife opened Finnywick's Toys • Games • Gifts on North Main Street. Jon became Chairman of the Merchant's Committee in September 2011 with an aim toward increasing cooperative action between local merchants and helping to strengthen Fairfield's brand as a regional shopping destination. 

Prior to his return to Fairfield in 2009 Jon worked for eleven years as a Brand Manager at Chicago based technology giant CDW, managing that company's partnership with Adobe Systems. Deeper into the past Jon logged several years with Maharishi Ayurveda Products International (MAPI) as a print-buyer first in Massachusetts and then in Colorado. 

Jon grew up in Roselle Park, New Jersey and graduated from Kean University with a B.A. in English. Jon first moved to Fairfield in 1985 and married his wife Therese here in 1992. They have two children, Freya and Aricin who are frequently found at Finnywick's or sporting about the Square looking for fun!
